“La denuncia addresses issues like consent, respect, manipulation, and emotional blackmail that can hide behind a teacher-student relationship. A relationship in which seduction can slip in, sometimes innocently, as a weapon and a maieutic instrument, serving as a form of intellectual persuasion. Other times, it can take the form of violence, becoming an abuse of power. A tense text with a surprising epilogue. A dialectical and philosophical challenge between two women at different stages of life, who, in the end, prove to be closer than one might expect. It addresses a timely issue, which, for me, makes both the writing and the staging so urgent. At the same time, it draws from contemporary theatre classics like The Children’s Hour, where discrimination based on sexual orientation appears in subtle and unexpected ways. The tone is tense, much like a mystery to be solved. However, a twist in the plot transforms this ‘courtroom drama’ into a declaration of love.”
