Premiering in Solomeo, Delitto e castigo is a production based on Dostoevsky’s immortal masterpiece. It lays the groundwork for a timeless philosophical debate, offering profound reflections on morality, the human condition, and the meaning of life. Take the fire from the altars of the past, not the ashes.
“This quote by Jean Jaurès perfectly captures the work carried out by the Compagnia Mauri Sturno in Italian theatre since its foundation over forty years ago. It remains equally relevant as the company embarks on a new chapter following the passing of its two founders. Glauco Mauri’s theatrical adaptation of Crime and Punishment celebrates its 20th anniversary, after premiering in 2005. For the first performance of this new chapter, Compagnia Mauri Sturno wanted to bridge the past with the present and the future. That’s how they decided to focus on one of the greatest novels ever written and on what unites the past artistic and editorial direction with the present and future one of bringing great novels back on stage.”
