Théâtre des Bouffes du Nord – one of Paris’ most famous theatres and place of numerous creations by Peter Brook – brings a magnificent theatre adaptation of Verdi’s work to the stage.

“Spectators are invited to behold Violetta’s intimacy, to witness from up close the fire in which she abandons herself among the guests of this musical and phantasmagorical celebration, where the distinctions between theatre and opera, speaking and singing voices, instrumentalists and singers are blurred, where Baudelaire sits with Tarkos and the ghosts of this Paris, inhabited by us in the future and in the thralls of industrial growth, meet their demise.
