Teatro Cucinelli presents an event not to be missed featuring John Malkovich, one of the most distinguished and sophisticated artists on the world scene with no fewer than twenty-five awards and twenty-six nominations. In this riveting show, theatre and music are brilliantly blended together in a unique performance that surrounds Malkovich with extraordinary musicians.

Conceived for the Julian Rachlin & Friends Festival and created by Aleksey Igudesman, the project is an exhilarating cocktail narrating the worst musical criticism made in recent centuries.

Schumann thinks he is a “composer”, while Brahms is “a no-talent bastard”. And Claude Debussy is “just ugly”. Accompanied by a flippant potpourri of musical insults, John Malkovich steps into the role of the mean critic.

The grand finale is “The Malkovich Torment”, an appalling review of Malkovich himself which Igudesman has set to music in an ironic, tongue-in-cheek fashion.
