Dance masterpieces performed by the winners of international competitions as part of the bicentenary celebration of Marius Petipa’s birth.
As part of the bicentenary celebration of Marius Petipa’s birth and thanks to the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, a group of extraordinary dancers are coming to Solomeo as part of the “Russian Seasons 2018 – Anno della Cultura Russa in Italia” (Year of Russian Culture in Italy). These dancers have won some of the most prestigious international dance competitions, and offer a fascinating classical repertoire. The program includes a selection of passages from the great classical repertoires, including Swan Lake, Paquita, Giselle, Sleeping Beauty, The Corsair, Don Quixote, and more. Alongside these worldwide popular titles, rare and precious pieces from Russian and European choreography will be proposed, including The Talisman, with music by Riccardo Drigo; the magnificent pas de deux in Kiss, with choreography by A. Mogilyov; the adagio by Spartacus and Phrygia in Spartacus, with choreography by Yuri Grigorovich; The Lady and the Bandit, a duet with music by Dmitri Shostakovich, and much more. This crescendo of beauty and virtuosity leads to a Grand Finale with the participation of all the dancers. An evening of great cultural interest, to admire top-notch technical and artistic skills.
