The celebrated Phantasiestücke work number 73 by Robert Schumann, as a result of which the composer himself described the year 1849 as his “most fruitful”, short, romantic masterpieces and perfectly formed miniatures, and two sonatas from the beginning of the twentieth century: one composed by Sergei Rachmaninoff in 1901 (at the time of the famous Piano Concerto No. 2) and published as work number 19 with great success and one of the three sonatas completed by Claude Debussy on the seafront of Pourville, after the “prolonged drought” due to his deteriorating health and the outbreak of the First World War.
