Brief Interviews with Hideous Men

The director and playwright Daniel Veronese, a true master of Argentine and Latin American theatre, brings us Brief Interviews with Hideous Men, by David Foster Wallace, a giant of 20th-century literature. With fierce, unsparing wit, the modern male is depicted as a weak figure, unable to build harmonious relationships with women. Veronese transforms Wallace’s monologues into dialogues between a man and a woman, but on stage we find two men alternating in the roles of the man and the woman, for a dialectic that underscores all the fragility, jealousy, possessiveness, aggression, and cynicism inherent in an emotional relationship.
