From rags to riches, Cinderella is a multifaceted heroin and creator of her own destiny. There are over three hundred versions of this fairytale, which is one of the oldest in the world.

A recluse in her inner world, she prefers to move

beneath the ashes in solitude, almost invisible, amid the soot of an apparently dull life, however inside her

the hidden embers of desire for an entirely different existence burn strong. Cinderella’s inner strength will redeem her.

More than a story about the search for prince charming,

Cinderella by Zaches, inspired by Basile’s seventeenth century version and the nineteenth century tale by Brothers Grimm, is an initiating tale in which the tough road to maturity leads through detachment from the past. Manipulation becomes dance, and dance revokes the ancient presence of the initiation ritual beneath the fairytale’s ashes.
